Things we Grow up Hearing as Children

There once was a little girl, who had a little curl, right in the middle of her forehead. When she was good, she was very very good, but when she was bad she was horrid.

Little children should be seen but not heard.

Ruminating, on these words I heard constantly as a child, as a child I thought that I was unlucky. I always got into trouble it seemed. But adults that knew me as a child say I was a good kid. Though I do know, I have a little mischievous  side to me, but  I got caught all the time…hahha…these phrases escaped my lips in growing my own daughter.

I would be curious what phrases you grew up hearing.

    1. Oh my gosh!!! I actually have a friend that her dad would say this to her…. i’m from the generation of late 60’s where the exchange in power to the woman happened… but this is a reality for many women to feel demoted to a place that a man is the only thing to give your life purpose… thanks for sharing this

  2. This is great! As you know, I too grew up hearing the same. There’s a good chance that those words were echoed from the same mouth.

Here’s a nice one to always remember…as I am on the brink of moving three times in less than 4 years with 4 kids,a hubby,& a dog.

It’s wonderful to own possessions. But make sure to remember-own them. Do not let then own you.
I think my mantra has become-let it go. Lol.
